Bio Director

Basile Rabaey (°1997) graduated *summa cum laude* from the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium, with a Master’s degree in Visual Arts (Photography). As an independent visual artist—working in photography, drawing, and video art—creativity plays a central role in his life. So it’s no surprise that his experience as an image-maker spans a large and diverse field. Along his work as an artist, Basile also works in a bookstore in Ghent specialised in Art and Architecture, where he immerses himself in art books on a daily basis. Thereby he gains extensive knowledge of art history and contemporary art. He is particularly interested in the history of photography and film as he’s utterly eager to learn and constantly on the lookout for new developments in the art world. His interests also extend to music. As a passionate guitarist, he plays in various bands as well as writing the songs for one of them.
